Currently, over 200,000 UEFA-endorsed coaching licenses are held across Europe. These licenses are available at various levels, including specialist qualifications in youth coaching, goalkeeping, and futsal. Each license is valid for three years and must comply with UEFA’s strict criteria for renewal.

UEFA Coaching Licenses and Diplomas

To earn a UEFA diploma, candidates must complete one of the following courses. Importantly, each diploma comes with a three-year license that requires renewal.

Admission Requirements

Before joining a UEFA coaching course, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Adequate language skills to understand the course,
• Fulfillment of admission criteria set by the course organizer, including an aptitude evaluation,
• Submission of all required documents and
• A clean criminal record ensures no history of crimes incompatible with the coaching profession.

For advanced courses, additional coaching experience is often mandatory. However, specific criteria vary depending on the football environment in which the national association organizes the course.

UEFA Coaching Diplomas

UEFA C Diploma

This entry-level course is ideal for grassroots coaches. It focuses on creating positive learning experiences that foster both skills and a passion for the game.

• Minimum hours of education: 60

UEFA B Diploma

To enroll in this course, candidates must have a valid UEFA C license and at least six months of coaching experience. This course emphasizes age-appropriate techniques for youth to senior amateur players. It also includes strategies for performance management, teamwork, and providing effective feedback.

• Minimum hours of education: 120

UEFA A Diploma

UEFA Pro Diploma

Goalkeepers B and A Diplomas
